Why I continue the Albanian Outreach Ministry?

Why I Continue the Albanian Outreach Ministry Despite Challenges?

Serving in the Albanian Outreach ministry has been one of the most challenging yet rewarding callings of my life. At times, it feels like the effort outweighs the results. The obstacles seem insurmountable, and the fruit, at least on the surface, appears small. Yet, I remain committed to this ministry, not because it is easy, but because it is worth it. Here is why I continue to press on.

1. The Call of God Is Unshakable

When God calls us to a specific mission, it is not contingent on how successful or easy it seems. The call to minister to Albanians—both in the homeland and the diaspora—is something God placed deeply in my heart. Scripture reminds us that obedience is more important than results: “So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow” (1 Corinthians 3:7). My job is to plant and water; the growth is His responsibility.

2. God Works in the Hidden Places

The outward fruit may seem small, but I have learned to trust in the unseen work of God. Seeds planted today may not bear visible fruit for years, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t growing. As Jesus said, “The Kingdom of God is like a mustard seed…though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants” (Matthew 13:31-32). Ministry often feels like planting mustard seeds, trusting that God will bring a harvest in His timing.

3. Faithfulness Over Success

In a results-driven world, it’s easy to measure success by numbers or immediate outcomes. I confess that I like numbers, I can encourage myself with them, convince others that I’m working in this field which sometimes helps when you do fundraising (where I suck). However, in God’s economy, faithfulness is the true measure of success. Jesus’ parable of the talents (Matthew 25:14-30) reminds us that the master commends his servants not for how much they achieved, but for their faithfulness in stewarding what they were given. Remaining faithful to the Albanian Outreach ministry, despite its difficulties, is my act of worship and trust.

4. Lives Are Being Changed, Even If Slowly

Every soul matters to God. If even one person encounters Jesus because of this ministry, it is worth all the effort. I have seen glimpses of transformation—Albanians who came to faith after years of spiritual searching, families strengthened by the hope of the gospel, or seeing young believers stepping into leadership. These moments remind me that God is at work, even if the fruit is not always abundant or immediate.

5. The Need Is Great

Albania’s history as the world’s first atheist state left deep scars. Many Albanians today live without hope, unaware of the gospel’s power. The diaspora faces its own challenges, struggling to maintain cultural identity while navigating life in foreign lands. The need for the gospel in our community is immense. How can I turn away when so many are still unreached?

6. The Example of Jesus

Jesus’ ministry often faced rejection and opposition. Many walked away from Him, and even His closest followers doubted. Yet, He never gave up. “For the joy set before him he endured the cross” (Hebrews 12:2). Jesus’ perseverance inspires me to keep going, even when the road is hard and the results seem small.

7. Hope for Future Generations

This ministry is not just about today; it is about the generations to come. By sowing into the Albanian community now, I am paving the way for future leaders, pastors, and missionaries to rise up. I dream of a day when Albanians are not just recipients of the gospel but bearers of it, taking the good news to other nations.

8. God’s Promises Are Sure

The Bible is filled with promises of God’s faithfulness. Isaiah 55:11 declares, “So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” I hold onto this promise, believing that every sermon preached, every conversation shared, and every prayer lifted up will accomplish God’s purpose.

An encouragement to you.

If you are reading this and feel discouraged in your own ministry, know that you are not alone. This goes first to my friends who reach Albanians, or similar groups. The work may be hard, and the fruit may seem small, but God sees your labor. He is faithful to reward those who remain steadfast. Let us remember Paul’s words in Galatians 6:9: “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

I continue the Albanian Outreach ministry because I believe in the power of the gospel, the faithfulness of God, and the hope of transformation. It is not easy, but it is worth every moment. To God be the glory, now and forever. I value always your prayers, encouragements and support to make this ministry stable and fruitful.
